Pranav Sharan Singh HR(TA) at Flipkart, Mentor/Advisor 12h wrote the following on LinkedIn: Average work week in the US- 37 hours Average work week in Canada- 35.5 hours Average work week- France/ Germany- 34 hours Average work week- Nordics- 32 hours Average work week- China- 60 hours Average work week - India - 62 + hours. Is it that - À) the concept of leisure does not exist in countries such as India, China and Japan. B) It is selectively deployed by global companies only in their countries of origin? C) Labor Boards are non existent or non functional in Asia, laws are thrown out of the window? D) employees are themselves to be blamed for being over zealous, hyper competitive and willing to voluntarily work without pay? They work saturdays, work till 9 pm on weekdays and given a choice, they would even sleep at work? My comment: Perhaps also because they think that it would help them to go to US, Canada, Germany or another place?
