“According to the law of aerodynamics, a humble bumble bee cannot fly. But the humble bumble bee not knowing this still flies”

Women entrepreneurs are like the humble bumble bee - charting different landscapes and exploring different territories.  What makes them unique from others? That they rise above circumstances and make their presence felt. However big or small, it doesn’t faze them.

8th March, 2015 marks as Women’s Day. More importantly, it marked a great day for women entrepreneurs in Indore. eChai Indore in association with Indore Startups Community organized  ‘Women Entrepreneurs Round Table Meet’ at Monty’z Bakery (Vijaynagar). Incidentally, the venue is headed by Ankita Mehta, a woman entrepreneur. What better way to flag off the first round-table program for women entrepreneurs than this?

"Tea with Women of Steel" was a tribute to women who have made their dreams into possibility. This high tea meet saw women from different walks of life enjoying the highly pro-active networking experience. The meet saw women from different age groups and at various stages of entrepreneurship animatedly discussing their ideas, venture setups and personal journeys as women, mothers and entrepreneurs. One of the participants was a 14 year old school girl who was enthusiastic to know how women can stake their position in the world independently. “I wanted to meet women around me who are an inspiration and capable of balancing life and their dreams. I am happy that I got to know more here”, says Aashka Patel a student of DPS, Indore. Her presence was a beautiful reminder of how even young girls too need role models to be able to understand the world of women.

The meet started off on a positive note with sharing by women who overcame all odds to realize their dreams. This was a great way to begin the round table meet and lauding the efforts of women was the best thing that happened. This led to women entrepreneurs opening up and sharing their journey with each other.

While partaking in an indulging and blissful afternoon, this group of women also engaged in a round-table discussion of “Can women have it all?” Interesting points of view emerged in relation to health, ambition, work-life balance, support system and much more. They also had fun with the activity of Positive Personal Affirmation in which they wrote quotes, drew pictures and wrote their thoughts on how they want to keep motivating themselves for the goals that lay ahead.

                                                                                 (Some positive affirmations shown)

Three hours of this meet culminated into raising the tea-cups and saying "cheers" to the women who have made it possible!
