Since the past year I have been in numerous meetups for entrepreneurs and others and there's something that bugs me. Huh,why? No..No... Nothing wrong with them but given the entrepreneur ecosystem is expanding exponentially at mercurial heights, there are hoards of meetings that are taking up much of time but the question is - are they bringing value to me as a person or as a professional? Too often we put a value proposition to the products we use or the services we demand but do we intuitively evaluate the value proposition of our meeting grounds?

The best meetups are those wherein there is a "connection". Not only between speaker and the audience but what the audience gains out of that in both short term and long term mode. Meetups that are light yet invigorating, leads to benefit in a longer run due to networking and also gives each individual person a hope that "I'm going to take-away this for my use" kinda feeling  - are the best.

However the most important consideration for the host as well as the participants in any kind of meet is that no meet is "ideal". The host must not have high expectations as far as the number of participants is concerned nor should the participants expect the host to fulfill each of their need. Meetups try and bridge all the gaps that the participants have but it cannot fulfill all at the same time given the timeframe and must be accompanied by constant and consistent (one to one or group) interaction to enable a long term satisfactory solution.
