Six Sigma isn't Karate...but this startup makes Karate kids with it!

Anyone who hears the words "Six Sigma" immediately conjure an image of someone who's black belt in Karate. While karate and six sigma are totally different things - there are some similarities - both are precise science and both are also an art! Floored?

Let's read more about this startup that's trying to bring in awareness of Six Sigma for individuals, startups and corporate houses. 

Maxim Consultants is a brain child of two professionals who took a very bold decision to quit their existing jobs and work for their Idea. Mr. Tarun Chhugani with 14 years of rich corporate experience working with Accenture as AVP, previous experience with Airtel, Adani and Wipro and Ms. Pallavi Bahrani with 9 years of experience in HR and Hiring, associated as Managing Partner for TaskforceIndia and handling two verticals as Profit Center Head.

Both came together with the Idea of Bridging the gap with Skills and introduced Lean and Six Sigma training in Indore, these are proven methodologies used in almost every fortune 500 organization to be defect free and process aligned.

Here is an insightful and candid conversation with Pallavi.

• How did you come up with the idea of 'Your venture' ?

After working for more than a decade in Corporate and rich exposure at different Verticals and horizontals, we wanted to start something of our own, what better to give back the fraternity with Education and real time knowledge which is sadly missing in our education system. We wanted to bring back the skills from Corporate and open the same for Students.

Maxim Consultants works on the Idea of Bridging the Gap, the gap existent between Current Education System and skills required to work in a corporate. Bridging the gap between struggling and successful Entrepreneurs.

Maxim Consultants purely focuses on Skill Based Training for Students, Upcoming Entrepreneurs and also Corporate eying to be big. We always felt the need of something more from the regular education, we realized there is a huge gap existent between the formal education that we get in the college and the core skills we need in Corporate. This is when we started to work on the Idea for Maxim Consultants.

We started Lean and Six Sigma training and opened a very new skill for Students which is beneficial for every student from Management, Engineering, Fashion, Hospital Administration and Healthcare, Banking and Financial Services and Many More. Once a student is certified any organization is ready to accept them with open arms.

• What problem are you solving?

We give students the Real time scenario from the Industry giving them insights on what is required to get placed better in their Dream Organizations, we work with students to make them Corporate Ready.

• How does it work?

We provide skill based training in Lean, Six Sigma, Advanced Excel, Scrum Master and many more required to work in today’s Competitive world.

• What is your target market?

We focus on

1. Students : To make them Corporate Ready and get placed

2. Upcoming Entrepreneurs : It is very unfortunate that only 5 – 7% of startups survive and grow, It is a responsibility to an Entrepreneur, we work with them to align their processes and also offer training in Lean Startup, Blue Ocean Strategy and support required in right direction.

3. Existing Corporate : Growth is very important factor and to keep growing, you need to be aligned with rest of the world. Trainings to make their process defect free.

4. Government/ PSU’s : With a tech PM like Mr. Modi that is one sector where we see a huge scope. 

• What is your competitive advantage?

Rich and diverse exposure to different Industry and Corporate across Verticals and Horizontals also exposure to training and facilitation makes us one of its kind with experience in Corporate as well as facilitation partners.

• How much time did it take you from conceptualization of 'your venture' to actually launching it in the market ?

Started his career with Wipro, then moved to Airtel, Established the Quality Function in Adani and moved to Accenture. All well established organizations in their own arenas. An Astute professional (Business Excellence / Quality) BE+MBA with 14 + years of Experience (IT, ITES, Telecom & Manufacturing) in Quality, Six Sigma (Black Belt certified), Lean (Kaizen, 5s, FMEA, Poka- Yoke), BPMS (Business Process Designing, Automation, Re-Engineering), Training, Learning and Development Productivity improvement, ISO Lead Auditor (ISO-9001), ITIL, Change Management

Pallavi Bahrani, Co-founder and Business Head

Management Professional with 9+ years of experience in HR Placements, Recruitment, Business Development, Revenue Generation and Market Penetration. Started with NVS Consultants, one of the oldest placement organization of Indore and handling the placement of major manufacturing giants of India. Moved to a new Placement Consultant Taskforce India, starting as a Key Account Manager moved to Managing Partner- Client Services and handling Profit Center Profile for 3 Centers for Placement and Training and Development Vertical. Developed the Client Base for National and International Real Estate Players and serving to almost every Real Estate players from Middle Management to Top Management in all verticals.

• What is your technology stack?

Working for Online trainings and cover all the Geographic Boundaries through Web Based Training and Certification

• How do you plan to market your product? What are your customer acquisition strategies?

Awareness through word of Mouth, Interaction with Students, Awareness Sessions in Colleges, Social Groups, Corporate References, Social meet ups.

• What do you want to achieve from this? What is your larger goal or vision?

We have chosen Indore, being the Education capital for the state and would like to bring it at par with Metro’s, as Metro’s have these types of trainings available but is difficult to reach for everyone. We aim to modify our current education system making it more useful to the students.
