Ms. Aditi Chaurasia, Cofounder, EngineerBabu It services Ltd.

The other day I was having coffee with Mr. Mayank when we shared some food for thought. Our discussion was centered around Ms. Aditi-the co-founder of EngineerBabu. EngineerBabu is is one of the fastest growing Mobile App Development and IT company from Indore with 55+ professionals and having amazing company culture. Her entire journey of getting into entrepreneurship made me believe that women now are no longer tolerant to any “men-ace”.The era has finally come where women no longer let themselves be held back. They have empowered themselves in every field. And if such is the zeal of women, there’s no might in this world that can stop the progress of this country.

Today, we have noticed there has been no sector left were women haven't made their presence. Be it entrepreneurship or business management, sports or politics, women everywhere have captured their place. They have the quench for making a mark in whichever field they enter. And this is what drives them towards taking the extra mile ahead. This makes it crystal clear that they have the appetite, skills and vision to take a shot in every single field. Indian women are no longer confined to their houses. They now have stepped out to contribute to the society and nation keeping a balance between family and profession. Gone are those male-dominated days. The women’s era has come!

Chanda Kochhar,

MD, CEO,ICICI Bank

Indra Nooyi, CFO & Chairman, Pepsico

The success of Chanda Kochhar, the MD and CEO of ICICI Bank has been highly discussed. She is a lady with dynamism. Never has she expected any special privileges to be given to the fairer sex. Rather she has always encouraged challenges. A mother of two, she managed coping up well with her career even while being a family oriented person. Kiran Bedi, being the first lady to become an IPS officer has become an epitome of dynamism. The contribution of tennis maestro, Sania Mirza in raising the eyebrows of many in the world with her expertise is noteworthy. Indra Nooyi, the current CFO and chairman of the second-largest food and beverage business, PepsiCo has been an inspiration for corporate leadership to many. These women have not only empowered themselves but also justified their empowerment in their respective fields.

Achieving this level of equality was not a matter of ease for the nation. There have been continual efforts to boost women empowerment in India by the government. But the social orthodoxy has always hampered the growth of women. Caught between the responsibilities towards her family, women were considered ‘ghar ki izzat', which they believe should not be exposed outside. But why don't these conservative people make their women their ‘Ghar Ki Shaan’ instead? The general outlook of society is ‘It is not needful for her to work when the husband is amply able to satisfy the family’s need’. But it’s never about need, it’s about taking a stand for their own existence. Why should they limit themselves only to household chores when they can contribute so much to the nation?

In a recent remark made by Jack Ma, founder of the Chinese E-commerce giant Alibaba, he was very proud mentioning that his company had 34% of female leaders, a figure much higher than the same in Silicon Valley. He considered them the ‘secret sauce ’ of his company. It was his observation that women have the ability to take care of every member of her family along with coping up with her leadership roles. He is of the belief that women are always concerned about others more unlike men.

There’s just a single change that needs to come in the Indian society. Society must take an initiative to create a climate where there’s no gender discrimination, and women can equally participate in the social, economic and political areas of the nation.

The paradoxical change that has now come has acknowledged the fact that a woman’s dedication towards work is unparalleled. She has overcome all the atrocities of the society and has struggled hard to climb the ladder of self-reliance.The concept of ‘Empower women, empower nation’ has been well set in minds now. The story of EngineerBabu also has the element of this feminism. As Mr. Mayank quotes, during tough times it was Ms.Aditi Chaurasia who had held the entire unit as one.The strength and leadership that she had provided then actually defined the success of the company. She too is a lady who never bent before the societal limitations. ‘Let’s break the stereotypical ‘men-tality’ and bring on the woo-mania factor’ quotes                                                                              Mr.Mayank.
